GOF is answering the need for an alternative to DRCongo Orphanages
The idea for Global Orphan Foundation came to our founder, Michele Jackson, through her work with an organization that researched causes of exploitation and trafficking of women and children. She was driven to discover how they got into that situation; the answer was rooted in their families and past experiences, mostly due to poverty. Many of these women and children were forced into exploitation after coming out of orphanages homeless, hopeless, and without a path to independence.
The end of 2017 brought the completion of the first of many buildings in our Children’s Care Village – an 800 square foot farm building! It was an exciting milestone for GOF, and the first step in a long journey to bring holistic care to orphaned children in Congo.
2017 was another exciting year for Global Orphan Foundation, full of growth and new adventures. We are building something that will quite literally transform lives for orphaned and vulnerable children in the countries we serve. We work for those children. If we do our job well, we’ll create something that matters as much to them as it does to us, and all of our lives will be better for it. Of course, none of this would be possible without our supporters. We have big goals and big dreams at GOF.
We have an opportunity that is rare. Let’s make the most of it together.
