Become a Child’s Champion

Bolingo Village proves it truly takes a village to raise a child. At Bolingo, each of our kiddos has a team of people to help them become the best versions of themselves. They have our Village Manager, their foster mom, mama helpers, our pastor, trauma counselor, medical staff, tutors, and many more. 

Today we’re asking you to join us as a member of the Bolingo Family. 

Annually, we spend $1,500 to provide for each child at Bolingo Village ($125 per month). Currently, we have 95 kiddos. That means the food, school fees, medical care, love, healing, and fun requires over $142,500 per year. 

We’re looking for people to help champion a child by starting a fundraising page to raise the $1,500 needed to support them over the next year.

Global Orphan Foundation is lucky to have a small group of donors that cover operations. This means that 100% of your support goes to Bolingo Village programs.

Donations will cover the kiddos’ nutrition, medical care, school fees, and spiritual, emotional, and trauma care.

FAQ’s

  • You’re right! $125 is more than other programs.

    We think many of those programs are doing great work — but are very different than Bolingo!

    If you look at their info, you’ll see that most of the money they raise is pooled together to combat community issues, which is amazing but not what we’re doing.

    Funds donated will go directly to support the sponsored child; to provide three meals per day, schooling, additional tutoring, regular preventative medical care, clothing, and spiritual and emotional care.

    Funds will not be used to build a well, host community training, or put in a road. While worthwhile, we raise funds specifically for these projects when we do them.

  • Great question!

    We have been tracking our spending over the last few years and know that, for each child, we spend:

    $55 per month on food.
    $30* per month on education.
    $20* on medical care.
    $15 per month for emotional and spiritual care.
    $ 5* per month on clothing/comfort items.

    *These numbers are averaged based on some months having larger expenditures.

  • We’re thrilled that you’re interested in sponsoring a Bolingo Village child.

    In exchange for your support, you will get regular updates on your child, their history, interests, and how they progress.

    Your updates will vary based on the child’s age and English capacity.

  • Maybe? Due to many factors (distance, travel time, costs, your child’s trauma, and language barriers), your updates will primarily come from staff members.

    Over time, depending on their and your language skills, phone calls or other supervised communication is possible.

  • Anyone! Individuals, offices, schools or classrooms, youth groups, small groups, whoever has a heart for children.

  • Not at this time.

    As an organization, we were founded on the knowledge that being orphaned is the most common risk factor in human trafficking.

    We are striving to find a balance between protecting our kids and ensuring those supporting them can share in their joys, successes, struggles, and growth.
